Atlanta and it’s greater metropolitan area are setting new policies to collect and manage the first 1” of stormwater that falls on new construction/development sites during storm events.  This is more restrictive than most ordinances; Michigan counties only require the “first flush” (or 1/2”).  This new standard is intended to minimize the billions of dollars in flood damage from 500 year storms that we are seeing every 5-10 years here in SE Michigan.
